Self Hypnosis Scripts: A Free Guide + Tools for Behavior Change

We have said it time and again, but “all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.” Everything you accomplish by means of hypnosis was all your own doing. These self hypnosis scripts and tools will help you accomplish your needed changes with the power of your own mind.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool used in society today, but only by a few brave souls. We now know that this tool can be used, even on a daily basis, to improve our lives and the lives of others. Hypnosis is not magical or mystical and has nothing to do with religion or evil. Hypnosis can help make us more productive, powerful and positive.

How Self-Hypnosis Works

Hypnosis works best with positive suggestions. We need to focus on giving the mind replacements for behaviors we want to eliminate.

  • Example: “You are finding your desire for healthy foods increasing as the old desire for greasy foods fades away.”
  • Instead of saying: “Stop eating greasy foods.”

Again, all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis. This means that you essentially hypnotize yourself whether or not another person is involved. Your job is to create a suitable environment for your own self hypnosis so you can relax and open your mind.

In other words, your job in self-hypnosis is to

Relax your body

Concentrate your mind

Imagine the things that you think in hypnosis are really happening

How Hypnosis with a Hypnotherapist Traditionally Works

In a regular hypnosis process, the hypnotist would create a rapport with their client, do a few tests of hypnotizability, and then induce (or lead) their client into hypnosis. The hypnotist may then deepen the client’s trance with imagery or deepening counts. After the client is deep enough for the particular treatment being administered, the hypnotist will give the client the appropriate and powerful suggestions needed to address the issue. Finally, the hypnotist will awaken the client slowly and gently. You can simulate some of this with self hypnosis.

Using Self-Hypnosis with Goals

Goal setting is a powerful way to incorporate positive suggestions into your self hypnosis. According to a study conducted by the Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology, goal setting may lead to significant improvements in body composition, especially for people just beginning an exercise program.1

The our free Hyp-Yoga Weight Loss Program contains a goal setting worksheet that you can use and adapt for your other non-weight loss goals as well. This program also goes into more detail on how to get into a habit of using self-hypnosis and meditation for behavior change.

The important point to remember is to create simple, positive goals that are truly attainable. Breaking down larger goals into smaller goals is also important to keep motivated.

Learn How to Self Hypnotize in Simple Steps

Take these steps one week at a time for best results. You can speed the process up if you are already doing self affirmations or are a regular meditator.

STEP ONE: Affirmations

Your first step is to be more aware of your thoughts towards your body. We will do this by practicing “talking” positively to yourself. This is a good way to start with basic self-hypnosis.

Every day at some point, maybe in bed at night or in the morning, say ten times in your head, “Every day I get healthier, leaner and stronger.” As you say this ten times, picture or visualize yourself doing what you need to do to get healthier, leaner and stronger. Also, see yourself how you want to be in your ideal weight and figure. You already know that a picture is worth a thousand words, so use these pictures you create in your head to bring you changes faster than you ever have experienced before. Your homework will help your mind get use to “self-programming” and as a result will soak up information and suggestions quicker and more effectively.

STEP TWO: Learning How to Get into Meditative States

Your task for this step is to take time to relax and clear your mind. You will do this by practicing a 2 minute meditation at least three times (hopefully everyday!) in the next 7 days.

Meditation: Sit comfortably in a chair, or on the floor, with your back straight and your hands resting on your knees (Yoga Easy Seated Pose). In a moment, you will close your eyes and take in a deep breath.

Then, breathe in filling up your stomach using your belly breath or use the deep breathing you practice in your yoga class. When you feel relaxed enough, start counting from 20 to 1 very slowly. When you reach 1, “awaken” yourself by counting forwards from 1 to 3, and then open your eyes.

STEP THREE: Practicing Self Hypnosis with Goals You Develop

Your task this step is to give yourself positive suggestions in light self-induced hypnosis focused on a goal you will develop (worksheet below). You have been doing so wonderful these last couple steps! You might not have realized it, but you have already taught yourself the first two steps you need to be able to do self-hypnosis. In the first week, you learned how to give yourself suggestions by saying and seeing yourself get healthier and leaner every day. Last week, you learned how to put yourself in a light hypnosis for 2 to 3 minutes with the seated meditation exercise.

This week you will do your seated meditation again, but this time you will focus on a specific suggestion you will give yourself. To help you write a goal or suggestion, use the goal setting worksheet on the next page.

Self-Hypnosis: Find a comfortable place to sit. Take your goal index card (that you will create from the worksheet in pink below this paragraph) and read your goal again. After you have taken in your goal. Close your eyes, take in a deep breath from your diaphragm and hold it at the top. Count down from 3 to 1 before you exhale and relax. As you continue to breath deep say your goal to yourself, in you head, over and over. Just let the words flow through you mind and if they start to scramble themselves, or if you forget parts your words, that’s fine. Just let you mind flow and focus on the words that you do remember. When you think it has been about 2 to 3 minutes. Count forwards from 1 to 3 and open your eyes.

Rewrite your goal: in a short, but detailed, positive sentence on the bottom third of the page and then fold the sheet in thirds. Alternately, you may write your goal on an index card if that is easier for you to carry around with you.

Tools to Help You Practice Your Self Hypnosis

You can use any of these scripts and tools for your own benefit. You could even read and record these scripts into your phone and then listen to yourself reading them. That is definitely self-hypnosis!

Smoking Cessation Let’s begin by relaxing your entire body beginning with your feet. Let your toes relax... and now your feet. Feel relaxation spreading up into your ankles and through your calves. Now let your knees relax, and as you continue to breathe, feel your thighs and hips relax. Feel as though there is a soft warm blanket of relaxation that is being pulled up over your body, just let it happen. Now feel that wonderful sensation of relaxation move into your pelvis and through your abdomen. Take in another very deep breath and as you exhale your chest relaxes. Your body is now feeling so calm and easy, just letting go of any stress you may be carrying with you and giving away all of your worries. Now actually see the relaxation move up through your back from your tail bone all the way up to your shoulders. Your entire back now becomes soft and easy. Your back feels so completely relaxed now, better and better with each breath. Now let your shoulders and your neck relax, feel them become soft as all tensions just fall away. Now let your jaw relax, just let it hang easily. Now your face relaxes, your cheeks, mouth, nose, and eyes. Your forehead relaxes and all the tension from your entire body is gone. Let all your cares float away on your breath. Now take in three slow deep even breaths, each breath deeper than the last. Now notice your breath as it enters your body, the coolness as it enters and the warmth as it leaves you. Feel the strength of your breath and the calm it brings you. Just let your body begin to slow down and drift as I speak. Now that you are so completely relaxed let’s use your wonderful vivid imagination to take you to a place of peace and quiet. Imagine that you are standing near the ocean on a dune that overlooks the water. The sky is clear and the air is crisp and clean. It is a beautiful summer day and the sun is shining brightly in a clear sky. Take in a deep breath and feel how wonderful this air feels, clean and pure. It is a beautiful day and you are alone here in this quiet place. In front of you there is a wooden stairway that leads down to the sandy beach and the waters edge. Let’s walk down this stairway together. I will count from 10 to 1 and with each step we take down together you will become more and more relaxed. When you reach the bottom of the stairs, you will feel more relaxed than you have ever been before. Let’s begin, walk to the stairs and begin stepping down as I count, 10, 9 more relaxed, 8 deeper down, 7 just letting go, 6, 5 more relaxed 4 everything feels so good now, 3, 2 and finally 1. You are now completely relaxed and standing at the bottom of the stairs with the sand beneath your feet. See yourself in this beautiful place, everything is clean and natural. The water is a beautiful turquoise blue and sand is soft and white. It is the most pristine beach you have ever seen, the sand is so clean and soft under your feet. You see a sand dollar lying near your foot and you are struck by how white and perfect it looks to you. You are suddenly more aware of how you feel in this beautiful place, pure and strong, and very sure of yourself. Every breath that you take in makes you feel so much better. Your body loves taking in this fresh crisp air. You feel healthier and more alive than you have ever felt in your life. You have left all of your old bad habits behind. You are a person who is in control of your health and your body. You are now completely able to see how important you are and you make yourself a priority from this day forward. You will be focused on doing whatever it takes to be the healthiest person you can be. You are a non-smoker. Your body is clean and pure just like the sands of the beach where you stand right now. You have let go of the past, and you are strong and able to avoid situations that may pull you toward old habits. Every clean, fresh breath that you take will now be a reminder of how good it feels to have healthy, clean lungs and a healthy body. Just let yourself relax even more right now... just enjoy this moment and let it become a part of you. See yourself standing by the waters edge and just take in all the beauty of this moment. You are so relaxed in this place and you feel more alive with every breath. This is a place that is yours, a place you can come to anytime you would like. You can simply take in a few very deep breaths, close your eyes and come to this place. You can move through anything, any stress any worries, or any situation that may pull you back toward old habits of the past. Right now in your mind, think of all the reasons you need to create a new identity as a non-smoker. Think of all the people that you love that need you...Think of all the activities you can now do as a non-smoker with ease and confidence. Think about how healthy you will become...even picture yourself healthier...in control...stronger...more energetic. Now know that as your mind changes and develops your new healthy identity, your body is beginning to change as well. You will start to crave more fruits - especially citrus fruits that your body will need to stave off sugar cravings. As you become clean and healthy, your diet will now reflect your health and you will crave even more fruits and vegetables, foods that are high in nutrition, and foods that satisfy all your needs. You are also noticing that you are eating less and drinking more water. This water flushes all the toxins out of your system completely until there is no sign of your old habit. You are taking care of yourself during this journey. Taking time to read a good book, get a massage, exercise more, try meditation or yoga...anything that will make you feel relaxed and happy....You are strong and you are in control. You are committed to being a non-smoker and nothing will change that for you now. Letting go of old habits is easier with each day that passes and you see yourself in an entirely new light. You are now noticing that your skin looks more youthful and you have a healthy glow. Every cell in your body is healing and you have new found energy for exercise and activity. You are so proud of your success, and you are becoming an inspiration to others. You are now a shining example to others struggling to become healthy and free of cigarettes. This new strong you will never go back. You are only looking forward to a bright healthy future. Take in another very deep breath of this fresh clean air and know that you are strong and your body is healthy. You can do anything you put your mind to and you will succeed. In a moment I will count from 1 to 5 and at the count of 5 you will open your eyes feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. 1, 2 more awake and alert, 3 more aware of the room around you, 4 eyes open now and 5 fully alert awake now.

NLP Weight Loss Script

Just like our hypnosis tools or EFT, an NLP Weight Loss Script can offer another door into our subconscious mind. NLP allows us to change unwanted behaviors with self-reprogramming. It accomplishes this with a very focused type of visualization. Targeting our negative beliefs and allowing us the opportunity to replace them with positive beliefs, thoughts and habit.

We have a few different NLP inspired weight loss scripts we have been using through the years with our clients. We will get to those next. However, first we must address, what is NLP? (For those that might need an introduction, or even a refresher.

What is Neurolinguistic Programing? (What is NLP?)

If you are new to NLP, you many be wondering just, what is Neuro-Linguistic Programming? NLP is a behavioral technology, which simply means that it is a set of guiding principles, attitudes, and techniques about real-life behavior, and not a removed, scientific theorem.

It allows you to change, adopt or eliminate behaviors, as you desire, and gives you the ability to choose your mental, emotional, and physical states of well-being. NLP is a very “pragmatic technology based on an ability to produce your desired results.” As a result, it allows you to become proficient at creating your future!1

1What is NLP

We have two NLP Weight Loss Scripts for you. Note, that they are inspired by NLP and have been adopted by NLP trained professionals for our weight loss program needs for behavior change.

Transcendence Circle – An NLP Inspired Weight Loss Script

Feel free to use your own words and use this as a guide. The script is worded for working with a small group of people, but you can adopt it for yourself or for an individual session.

Standing straight and tall with your chest open and arms relaxed (in yoga’s mountain pose). Taking in our next deep easy breath and allowing our exhale to relax our entire body. We are moving into our Transcendence Circle. This is an empowering technique that uses Neuro-linguistic Programing (NLP) to let you train your mind to see and feel yourself as you would like to be – your ideal self.

I know that we all have excellent imaginations. So let’s use them to aid in our weight loss efforts. So close your eyes and we’ll begin. Picture or imagine a circle right in front of you. Picture your circle big enough so that you could fit inside it. In that circle is all the tools, emotions and visions you will need to bring yourself to your ideal you.

Imagine first what the circle looks like – notice its color, shape, movement, its feelings and sounds. Now imagine that inside that circle is a vision of your ideal self. Imagine what your ideal self would look like, what it feels like, the emotions it has. Now mix all those visions and feelings into your circle so it all becomes part of the circle. So that when we step into the circle in a moment you can take on all these ideal qualities at once. Good.

On the next breath, we’re stepping into the circle drawing our fingers together into our hearts in prayer (or another mudra – hand placement – of your choice). Stepping in NOW. Experiencing our transcendence circle and allowing ourselves to take on all the qualities of our ideal self. Notice the wonderful feeling of your ideal self empowering you with the tools to bring our vision to a reality. Good. Stepping out.

Let’s do that again. On the next breath, we’re stepping into the circle drawing our fingers together into our hearts in prayer (or another mudra – hand placement – of your choice).

Feeling strong, capable, slim, beautiful (or handsome). Keeping our anchor mudra (hands) together this time as we step out – keeping all the circle’s power in our hands and with us always. Let’s bring that empowerment to our hearts (bring hands to heart). Good. Relaxing.

Now just drawing our hands together into our anchor mudra and still experiencing the power of your ideal self. Relaxing. Bringing this anchor mudra with you and using it though out your day whenever you need inspiration or the strength of your ideal self. Good.

NLP Weight Loss Script for Getting Rid of a Food Craving

  • Feel free to use your own words and use this as a guide. We wrote this script so you can do it on yourself (as well as with a client if you are a weight loss coach). We have you read, then close your eyes and do it. So, feel free to give a try by yourself!
  • Cravings for SPECIFIC foods are totally emotionally based. When your body is hungry, you will not crave only a specific food (like chocolate or pizza) you will crave food in general. In other words, true hunger is open to options. This script will help you to pre-emptively get rid of one of your routine comfort foods.
  • Remember, this script is something you do not in the heat of the moment, but to beat a craving before it even happens. If you are actually in the moment of a craving, then we suggest using the EFT tapping technique. (The EFT tool helps you to fight the cravings that come on like waves.)
  • You can use any visualizations that you find disgusting such as maggots, rotten meat, whatever is the most repelling thing you can think of – for liquids try putting in other gross liquids.

This NLP Weight Loss Script helps you turn off a specific food craving.

To start, think of a food that you know is bad for your body. Don’t think of your favorite dessert, but just a “junk” food that you automatically reach for at times that you know you should not. For example, if you get home from work and automatically reach for potato chips – this would be a good food habit to replace. A food you would not want to choose is a food you absolutely adore but only get a couple times a year.

Close your eyes and picture the food that you would like to replace; notice where this food is located in your mind. Notice how it looks and smells. Then open your eyes. Go ahead and do this…

Now close your eyes again and this time picture _________. (Insert your item that disgusts you.) For example, picture rotten meat that has been sitting in the sun and it so smelly and utterly disgusting. Put this gross image in a different location but still in front of you in your mind’s eye. Go ahead and do this…

Finally, close your eyes again and picture both images at the same time. They will be in their respective locations where you first imagined them. You will now begin to move the _____ (disgusting thing, i.e. stinky meat) over to the food you choose and move it on top of the food. Let them begin to merge into one image until the food takes on ALL of the qualities of the stinky, gross meat (or other visual you picked).

Open your eyes when you are done experiencing this terrible, smelly image. Go ahead and do this…

Now repeat this procedure a few times in a row if needed. In addition, you can repeat this daily for as long as you need to. Then, use it again on another junk food you want to get rid of.

NLP has a thousand different applications. It is a fascinating “brain hack” that people all over the world use to change behaviors. As an addition to hypnosis, and our other behavior changing tools, you can take your weight loss efforts to the next level.

Hypnotic Suggestions – Stress Management



Your body is now loose and relaxed. A good, pleasant feeling is now coming all across your body. Let every muscle become loose and limp, like a wet wash cloth.

Now, you are beginning to feel a pleasant wave of relaxation over your entire body, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Just let every muscle and nerve grow loose and limp and relaxed. You are feeling more relaxed with each easy breath that you take.

You are so relaxed you are drowsy or sleepy even. Just letting the sound of my voice soothe and relax. So calm and so relaxed. You're relaxing more with each easy beat of your heart ... with each easy breath that you take ... with each sound that you hear.

When we are stressed, we take it out on our bodies. Your body and your mind are more connected than we might ever realize. When you allow stress and anxiety to control you life, your body takes a real beating. Your stomach creates more acid, your muscles tense and your metabolism slows. All systems are affected, including your blood pressure, your skin and your heart.

You know that it is in your best interest to relax and enjoy life. You are now allowing yourself to relax. You have the ability to control your health with your mind. You can handle anything life throws at you if you just remember to relax and breathe deep.

As you listen to my voice your body relaxes even more. Right now I want you to notice all the muscles in your body and I want you to clench them all right now. Contract all those large muscles and your small muscles. Do it now. Now relax. Let your whole body melt. Turn your body into butter and let it melt. Relax your face especially. Your forehead and all the muscles in your eyes. Relax your body and with every exhale let go a little more. Good.

Now let's move to the inside of your body. It's amazing. We do have the ability to change our body's systems and help them to better function when we are in this natural, wonderful state of relaxation.

Now let's focus. First, relax the constriction of your arteries. See your heart pumping easily. Notice your blood is flowing smoothly. See your kidneys flushing properly.

Your head feels clear. Your sinuses are clear. Your metabolism is working at a natural, effective level. All is well inside you. Your body is now ready to take on any challenges life offers it, in this wonderful, whole state.

No matter what happens in life nothing or no one will be able to upset you. You have control of all the nerves in your entire body... over all the inner nerves and all the outer nerves complete control of your whole nervous system.

And your mind is clear and alert. You are more aware than ever before. Problems to solutions are just so clear. Even problems you have on a reoccurring basis. You know just how to handle them emotionally and physically. Situations that used to bother you now seem like opportunities to feel relaxed and in complete control.

You will sleep wonderfully each and every night. Night is for sleeping and your body needs 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night to rejuvenate you and prepare you for the day ahead. Each and every night when you go to bed and there is nothing else you wish to do... you will close your eyes and will immediately go right off to sleep you will go into a wonderful sound sleep... comfortable, restful, sleep.

From now on, anytime you feel a stressful situation coming on, you will simply take in a long deep breath. You will handle the situation calmly...with greater concentration and focus...from now on thats your signal...one deep breath in and one long exhale out and you will relax and handle the situation calmly and wisely.

If there is a certain area of your life that is causing you stress, you decide to focus on solving this problem one step at a time....focus on solving this problem with a calm cool head...You are not overwhelmed. You take each situation day by day, piece by piece. Knowing that everything will be okay in the end. You have confidence and resolve.

You are a great person and you are going to make it. You will succeed in what is important in life. You are in control and can do what you put your mind to.

You are becoming an inspiration to all those around you. Your family and friends will admire your vitality and determination for life and aspire to be more like you. You are aware of your new influence and treat yourself and others with respect.



These suggestions are now becoming permanently a part of your mind, transforming into your beliefs and convictions so that success will follow you as naturally as your shadow.

Awakening



In a moment I'm going to count from 1 to 5. At the count of 5, you'll open your eyes feeling wonderful in every way AS A RESULT OF THESE FEW BRIEF MOMENTS OF HYPNOSIS... IT'S AMAZING WHAT A FEW BRIEF MOMENTS OF HYPNOSIS WILL DO...

Your mind will be clear and alert. You'll feel wonderful in every way.

Guided Hypnosis for Weight Loss Script 5

Guided Hypnosis for Weight Loss Script 5 is the final script from our original studio weight loss program. We have seen people lose significant amounts of weight over the years in this program, and it is still one of my very favorites. And not just for weight loss! Anyone who is on a health and wellness journey can benefit from this script.

This script is a part of a series of hypnosis scripts we wrote to influence motivation for healthy eating, exercise, and self-care that will ultimately result in better health and weight loss.

For Discussion Before Hypnosis

These discussion points are to help guide your pre-hypnosis discussion. Please use these as a jumping off point to create your own discussion with your clients and to personalize their hypnosis session.

  • Setting goals for our weight loss journey is important. Helping your clients set their own goals is a great step in their weight loss journey to success.
  • We are looking to be present and live in this moment, yet at the same time set goals and expectations for ourselves that take time to meet. This sound contradictory, but it’s really not. We can still enjoy the process of goal setting and the current step we are working on. Taking our goals step-by-step is important.
  • Having the correct focus in the first place and setting the “right” goals is important in keeping us calm and conscious. When we have incorrect goals or superficial goals we end up striving and struggling through them and end up feeling defeated or helpless. When we become “goal-oriented” people we often start attaching our self-worth and identity to achieving these goals. Attachment to the outcome is counterproductive to enjoying the work as we do it, and accepting the results apart from our identity. All of this can certainly lead to stress and anxiety, which now know is exactly the opposite of what we truly need to start and keep losing weight.
  • Our lesson is to set goals and then to LET THEM GO. Send them out to the universe like a prayer and trust that your journey, if approached with humility and openness, will lead you to discovering your true self – healthy, fit and fulfilled.
  • DRAWING FROM YOGA: Practice this today be having your client close their eyes with hands on their heart and bring to mind a goal or intention for the class. Then to honor that intention, tell them to let it go. Send it out into the universe like a prayer.
  • Ask them about their progress and their future goals.
  • Talk about successes along the way.

Hyp-Yoga Weight Loss Script 5

You are Pure Energy” Induction:

Find a comfortable position and begin to slow your breath. Place your arms about a foot away from your body with your palms facing up. Place your feet about two feet apart and let your toes relax out to the sides. Just let yourself begin to drift easily, and let my voice be your guide to a wonderful place of calm.

Everything is easy, you do not have to do anything just drift, …easily and slowly. As you lie here I will count from 10 to 1. With each number that I say you will feel yourself become more and more relaxed. Every part of your body will just feel as though it is sinking into this amazing place of deep relaxation. Let’s begin,10, feel yourself relaxing, 9 deeper down, 8… just letting go now, 7, 6 relaxing even more deeply…5 feeling so completely calm and easy, 4 even deeper now.. 3, 2 so deeply relaxed, mind is open and feeling so good…. and finally 1. Completely relaxed, mind is open and ready for this journey today.

Suggestions:

I would like you to use your wonderful vivid imagination and see yourself sitting in a beach chair near the ocean. This is the most comfortable chair and you feel so relaxed in this place. You look around and you see the sun is shining and the sky is so blue. There is a very blue sky and a gentle breeze is blowing and you hear the rustle of the leaves of a palm tree very near you. There is only beauty around you. Just take it all in and let yourself sink into this comfortable chair.

As you sit here in this deep wonderful state of relaxation look out in front of you and notice the light from the sun. Think of all of the heat and energy that is provided to us by the sun. Look around and see a palm tree. Now notice how the sun’s light hits the surface of the palms and how there are also shadows. See how the light affects everything. We have always understood that the sun is light and energy and it affects our world.

Now look down and see your body as the light touches it. Now realize that we too, are all energy. We are all light and our physical bodies are just the pieces and parts between that light. Our strong beautiful spirit is light, it is energy and it is everything we are inside. From the constant beat of our heart, to the blood pulsing through our veins we are energy. Your spirit makes it all alive and constantly moving and changing.

Think of how you have used your strength and your energy to accomplish great things in your life. You have done so many wonderful things, and now think about all of those people around you that you have affected. You are an amazing person and you now see that you can change anything by using your strong energy and spirit. There is no goal you cannot reach, no mountain you cannot climb, and no obstacle you cannot overcome. You are light, and your body is the vessel for your light.

From this moment on you will feel how strong your inner light is shining and you will radiate joy and happiness to others... You will inspire others with your tremendous energy and positive attitude. You will be sensitive to your own emotional well being and you will only participate in thoughts or activities that bring you even more joy and more energy. Your thoughts will guide you in your journey and you will now be more aware of your thoughts and let go of any old self-limiting messages you may have said to yourself.

Staying in a place of well being is now your main focus. You will be more attuned to your body than ever before. You will notice your body's need for hydration, nutrition, exercise and sleep. You will listen to your body... it has been telling you things for years and you may have ignored it. Your body will respond to anything that you ask of it because it functions in response to your energy and spirit. You now know that you can move easily and freely through this life by caring for your body and your spirit. Now just let yourself relax even more, just breathe and let go. Give your body this time to rejuvenate.

The foods you eat will reflect your own personal light and energy. You will now only eat foods that are a direct result of the sun’s light and the energy of the earth. You will give your body healthy fruits and vegetables that will give all of their nutrition to your body. You will only give your body healthy life giving foods in portions that your body asks for. Your body will tell you what it needs and you will now listen and be respectful of what your body is telling you.

You will move easily past cravings or temptations that may have drained your energy in the past. Really listening and being aware of your body’s energy level and what your body needs will become much easier to you. When you eat you will quickly notice that you are full, and you will stop eating. You are unaffected by what is left on your plate... listening to your body is your priority now.

Moving, exercising and finding strength and depth in your yoga practice will help you to honor you body and your mind. You will now be more motivated than ever to give your body the activities you need to bring joy, strength and flexibility... You will crave the opportunity to move and celebrate all that your body can do. Your awareness of your energy will propel you to new levels of fitness and vitality. You will also balance your activity with rest and deep sleep. You will make it a priority to get enough sleep to restore your body so you awaken feeling fantastic every morning.

You are pure energy and you are now more aware of this than ever. Feel the sensations of your body, the vessel, the temple that carries your energy. Being aware and present in your life is now your priority. You will take the time to connect with your breath, your body and your thoughts. This will be easy from now on and only positive thoughts and positive energy will be moving through you. You are perfection and your light shines more brightly than ever.

Know that all of these suggestions are firmly implanted in your mind and they will stay with you to be used in your life as you need them.

– The problem is not the craving (we crave what we need, even if unhealthy) its the imbalance that led to the craving.

Identify what activities can take the place of emotional eating (have each person name 1 or2) Examples: Reading, Listening or Playing Music, Walking, Taking a bath, Playing, Talking with a Friend, Cleaning, Gardening, Creating art, writing in a journal, doing yoga, writing a letter, meditating, doing self-hypnosis, breathing).

– Introduce EFT and the Tapping out craving system.

I love this script. It has helped me and so many of my clients over the years with developing the self acceptance necessary to break negative emotional eating habits.

Here is a quote from the script that I find particularly powerful, “Now that you are so relaxed it might be easy to forget that such things as stress, depression, boredom, anxiety, loneliness and frustration exist in life, but they do… and they are at times a very real part of our weight loss journey. This is okay…You are okay, because you are developing an inner perseverance that endures and sustains you through all trails of life. An inspiration that works well beyond motivation and effort.”

Hypnosis For Emotional Eating



Induction:

Finding a comfortable, open position and allowing your breath to become very relaxed. Let go completely starting with your toes, your legs, your hips, and your back. Allow your fingers to release, you arms to relax, your shoulders relax and your heart area opens. Your whole body relaxes...sinks into the mat...even begins to disappear as you relax your neck, your jaw, your mouth, nose, eyes and forehead. All very relaxed.

Now I would like you to imagine that right in front of you is a writing board. In your mind... either see a chalkboard or a dry erase board. Which ever you see, see it now with detail and clarity. Use your imagination to see this board in your mind's eye... Now go up to the board and take your marker or chalk and draw a circle on the board. In the middle of that circle draw the number 15 being careful to fill the circle as much as you can without disturbing the circle.

Now in a moment you are going to erase the number 15 and then write the number 14 in the circle watching every stroke and movement of your hand. Wait for my cue...You will keep writing and erasing numbers until you get to 0. I will keep talking, but you will not need to listen, your only job will be to make and erase numbers consciously as your subconscious takes over listening to my voice.

Go ahead NOW - start making and erasing the numbers 15 through 0 and letting every number you make and every number you carefully erase relax you even deeper. The numbers are relaxing you even more and as you work downward your mind is sinking as well into a wonderful, relaxing state of hypnosis where your subconscious can do all the work. Your conscious mind focuses on the task at hand as each number you make and each number you erase sinks you down, down, down into this wonderful state of being. Sinking deeper and deeper into hypnosis. When you reach zero just letting your mind float on your breath. Each number you make relaxes you down even deeper and each number you erase allows you to let go and just breath. Sinking deeper and deeper and deeper into a restorative and rejuvenating hypnotic sleep.

Good. Where ever you are in your numbers you can let go of that image and just allow yourself to float on your breath. Even as you lay here, your body begins to disappear and you have the complete freedom to be totally present and subconsciously aware. All outside sounds will only help you to relax still deeper as you float on your breath. Relax, relax. You are doing great. The rhythmic breathing our your body relaxes you deeper and deeper.

Suggestions: Now that you are so relaxed it might be easy to forget that such things as stress, depression, boredom, anxiety, loneliness and frustration exist in life, but they do... and they are at times a very real part of our weight loss journey. This is okay...You are okay, because you are developing an inner perseverance that endures and sustains you through all trails of life. An inspiration that works well beyond motivation and effort.

Let's take a moment to appreciate how wonderful our human body is. We have so many chemical reactions, systems and processes that make up who we are physically and these processes have an effect on how we feel emotionally. When we treat our body lovingly and carefully, all of these systems function correctly and produce chemicals that keep us happy and healthy. When we treat our body poorly by eating incorrectly and not exercising enough, our systems are compromised by stress hormones and survival chemicals. This knowledge is now a part of your mind and the effects of your actions give even more clarity to your thoughts and choices.

I would like you to picture yourself at home. Picture in every detail you can a time when you have been bored, sad, lonely or stressed and you have reached for food as a comfort or activity. Bring back all the emotions and cravings that come with this situation... Perhaps it is evening and you have nothing planned for the whole night...Maybe you have the TV on, maybe you have been lazing around all day or maybe you have just gotten home from a stressful day. Whatever your situation, you know what you usually do, and if necessary, you are NOW ready to change your behaviors. In your visualization, picture yourself NOW, instead of reaching for food...

Since your eating habits create a cycle that affects your emotions and your health, you are NOW creating new behaviors for comforting yourself at times of loneliness, boredom, sadness, and stress.

If you have a craving...You are slowing down... taking the time to listen to your body to see if is a craving or true hunger. True hunger will come on slowly and will signal to your body to eat healthy, life giving foods. True hunger can wait and true hunger ...will tell you when you are full. You are now even more aware of your bodies needs and you are satisfying them with healthy food, exercise and rest.

Whether or not you consider yourself a “moody person” our motivation is always effected by our moods. You now know that the good news is that exercise can elevate your mood. You are developing a cycle of positive energy for your body. The more you exercise, the better your mood, and the better your mood, the more you will exercise. This exercise will also release your stress and improve your sleep allowing you to develop even more energy. You are becoming unstoppable. Your energy and drive for life are increasing every day.

Your inner peace...your inner inspiration...they are with you NOW as a constant reminder of your commitment, your expectancy and your desire to lose weight through all life's trails and adventures. Today, this week, this month, is the perfect time to lose weight. There has never been a time like NOW. This present moment, to change your mind and your body. You will succeed in losing weight. You will lose 1-2 pounds a week. Weight loss is easy because you are now enjoying exercise more than ever before. You love working out and moving more. You are also loving healthier foods that satisfy you and sustain you meal to meal. And you are relaxing and taking care of yourself.

Your inner inspiration is now glowing in your body, following you as closely as your shadow as you move along your weight loss journey. Feeling in your body along with this glowing inspiration, a spirit of gratitude...of love for yourself and a growing love and patience for all people. And this is so.

In a moment I will count from one to five, and as I count, you can slowly awake yourself from hypnosis.

To start, make sure you check in with your client to acknowledge,

  • How they felt after their last hypnosis session.
  • What was one (or more) success for their week.

Often, in our weight loss journey, we carry a lot of baggage. Hypnosis can help us to let go of our emotional baggage with the power of visualization and positive self-programming. As a result, this hypnosis script can lead to lightness of mind, as well as a lighter body.

Helping your client to address some of the issues that have been weighing them down, before the hypnosis, can help them to understand what they are letting go of. Negative images of themselves and negative thought patterns can be replaced in the subconscious mind by practicing hypnosis, visualization and affirmation often.

The Power of Visualization and Affirmation”

Induction:

Extend out one leg and then the other to the floor about 2 feet away from each other with your toes open to the sides. Relax your arms to each side of your body with your palms to the ceiling. Arms about a foot from your body on each side. Now just relax and let all of your muscle groups let go.



Close your eyes and let's focus on your breathing. Take in a few nice, deep, easy breaths and slowly exhale. Let your breath fill your entire body keeping you warm and calm. Feel the relaxation as I speak.



Let your breathing become natural, not forced as we relax our whole body, starting with your feet. Let your toes fall open to the sides and relax your feet, your ankles up to your knees. Let your knees fall open as you relax all the way up to your hips letting them fall open with your exhale.



Relax your fingers, relax your palms and your wrists all the way up to your elbows, up to your shoulders. Let your abdomen relax and the muscles in your back relax. Let your chest fall open. Relax your neck, your jaw, nose, eyes and forehead. All the way to the top of your head. With every breath, you are feeling better and better.



I would like you to use your vivid imagination to bring you to a wonderful, relaxing place. Imagine that is a mild spring day and you are feeling whole, beautiful and peaceful. You are dressed in comfortable clothes and are in a bungalow or small house on a beautiful beach. You are sitting in a very comfortable chair facing the ocean. You are in your own private house in your room. The room is very open and spacious with hard wood floors and flowy curtains.



As you sit in your comfortable chair you gaze out the window and feel the gentle ocean breeze on your face. Your scene is very serene and quite. No other person is around. Occasionally you may hear a seagull along with the waves in the ocean. You can look out this window as long as you like. Your body is calm and your worries have all faded away. No one is going to ask you for anything and you are free to do as you wish.



Enjoy the scene. You can stay there as you listen to the sound of my voice.



I will begin to count from 10 to 1, and with every number you will go deeper into hypnosis. 10 deeper and deeper now 9 all the way down deep 8 tired and drowsy 7 just letting go now. 6, 5 tired, letting go now. 4, 3 deeper and deeper 2 And finally 1, deep, deep, deep hypnosis where your subconscious mind is now in the forefront ready to make true what it hears...

Suggestions: Your health and beauty comes from within. The outside is affected by the inside. Whether or not you have been consciously aware of it, your emotions and thoughts have shaped what you look like today. They will continue to shape you day in and day out. You have the power to make yourself even more young, vibrant and healthy.

The more you think about exercise, the more and more you will crave it and enjoy doing it. The more you think about eating healthy foods in the correct portions, the more you will enjoy your meal times. The more you think about resting and enjoying life, the more appealing sleep and simplicity become.

You are learning how to take care of your body with sleep and rest. You are treating your body as you would your best friend. You are now taking time to do things for yourself that relaxes you and keeps you young and vibrant.... Things that you love, such as a massage or a bath.

You are creating a restoring ritual out of your daily hygiene and beauty routines. When you are washing your face be attuned to the feeling of the water running over your skin and tell yourself you are washing away all the cares of the day. When you are brushing your teeth, run through your mind an affirmation such as... I am calm, peaceful and successful. You will now see your shower time as a way to start fresh, not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. See your shampooing as a way to massage your head stimulating thoughts of strong, full, beautiful hair.

Now relax, let's deepen our hypnotic trance as we let go and just focus on our breathing and our being. You are now appreciating more and more the miracle of eating and processing food as energy for your body. You are NOW releasing any stress related to food. You are breaking the bonds and chains of eating and are able to experience eating as a beautiful ritual and a rich experience.

The food you eat will strengthen your body. It will make you vibrant and full of energy. The food you eat will make you slim and trim. It will nourish and energize you. The healthy food that you now eat will balance your emotions. It will give you freedom to be more expressive and creative because you are so healthy. The energy of your food will become the energy of your body and your body will now be relaxed enough to burn your stores of fat to fuel your activities.

As you eat, you will now slow down and experience your food. You will enjoy every taste and sensation. You will feel good as you eat because you know that you are eating to satisfy your TRUE hunger. You will remind yourself consciously and subconsciously about how this food is giving you even more energy and vitality. Visualize yourself, imagine yourself becoming healthier as a result of the food you are currently eating. You will now stop eating when you are full. Your body will tell you when it is full and you are now so in tune with your body that you will now listen. You will stop immediately when you are full and feel completely satisfied.

You are eating three healthy meals a day. You are eating a good breakfast in the morning and a satisfying lunch and a smaller dinner. This will make your sugar levels steady and strong. You are craving foods such as whole wheats, vegetables, fruits. Craving the fruits and vegetables of the season such as _______________________. You are craving more nutrient rich foods, proteins and fibers. You are craving cool, tall glasses of water that will cleanse your body and leave you feeling young and glowing.

Now deepening again, as we let go and just focus on our breathing and our being. Visualize right now yourself doing your favorite exercise. Imagine in as much detail as possible, you engaging in the physical activity that brings you the most enjoyment. Now visualize yourself getting better, faster, stronger in this activity. Picture yourself becoming more flexible and leaner. Now feel that rush of energy over your body, feel the endorphins from your exercise sweep over your body renewing your sense of determination and your inner inspiration. You will now crave this movement in your body and the exercise you do will increase your energy and drive for life ten fold.

Your health and beauty comes from within. The outside is affected by the inside. Now you are consciously aware of it, and your emotions and thoughts are shaping what you look like today. They will continue to shape you day in and day out. You have the power to make yourself even more young, vibrant and healthy.

Good. Now enjoying these last few moments of hypnosis. Letting all the suggestions sink into your mind and become a part of who you are. Awakening slowly as I count from 1 to 5. 1..2..3..4..5. Opening your eyes, stretching your body and feeling great in every way.

The more we can practice our hypnosis and visualization, the easier it will become a part of who we are. We are focused on moving forward, each day toward the person we know we can be. Staying positive and loving life as we journey through weight loss.

You now can tap into your imagination more than you ever have been able to before, and right now you can easily use your mind to bring yourself to a place where you are totally safe, relaxed and present. Maybe you can imagine or see a favorite place in your life or even just a place in your mind. Bring yourself there to this place and allow yourself to experience all of the different sights, smells, and emotions of being here and safe.

Suggestions:

You have at your disposal the power of your own imagination. You already know that a picture is worth a thousand words, and this is especially true for your mind's subconscious inspiration. With that in mind, I would like you to now picture yourself in as much detail as possible, outside of your home. Right in front of the place that you live. Picture your body as it is now and add emotions to your visualizations of excitement and expectancy.

As you stand in front of your home, appearing before you now is a path. It is a new path, but it feels very familiar to you. See this path appearing in great length and detail. This is your life's journey and looking down the road makes you peaceful and happy. You realize now that your past has brought you to this place, and for that you are grateful. You realize that the future of this path leads to weight loss and self-satisfaction, but you also realize that the most important place on this path is where you are RIGHT NOW. This very moment.

Allow yourself to start walking along this path, being mindful of all the sights and sounds, as I continue to lead you and your continue to make changes.

You now understand that results will come, but not without you using this moment, this day, to work through your goals and to enjoy your successes. You are now on a journey towards permanent weight loss and self-satisfaction.

Along your path, you are now finding more ways to love and take care of yourself. You are being kind to yourself. There is no more guilt in your life towards exercise or food. You take the time each week to plan out your exercise and healthy eating routines, making sure to give yourself every opportunity for success. If during the week you miss an exercise session or eat incorrectly, that is okay. You are okay and there is no need to punish yourself. Life is not all or nothing. You now realize your life is a journey and every moment is a step. Every miss-step is an opportunity to learn and can easily be corrected by your next few steps.

You are enjoying exercise even more each day. Being active gives you a sense of freedom, excitement and amazement. I would like you to think right now of a time in your life where you really enjoyed movement or exercise. A time where you felt successful in your body. Visualize the details of this event with color, texture, smell, sound and emotion. Let the success of that moment fill your body. Let a small smile even come over your face right now. Remind yourself of how you felt and let those feelings radiate in your body, mind and spirit.

Now let all these powerful thoughts and emotions all centralize in a glowing sphere of light in your mind. Let the light sink to the very back of your head, to the furthest part of your mind where you keep all of your learned behaviors, thoughts and emotions. This success will now always be with you as an inspiration as you take each step. You are learning more and more about yourself on this journey and you are taking what you learn to improve yourself and to inspire others. You are an inspiration to everyone around you.

As you continue walking in this path, your inspiration swells within you...your internal motivation is now backed by your subconscious mind. You will succeed, one day at a time. You will enjoy life, one day at a time. You are losing weight, one day at a time, as you learn to relax and your body learns to burn fat to keep you energized and healthy.

  • We want to begin our weight loss journey with a peaceful celebration, focusing on the joy of a fresh start. This really is the first day of the rest of our lives and we are going to enjoy it, as well as every other day this week.
  • What do you really have but this present moment? When we realize all we have is right now, that changes our perspective not only on what we do, but how we are while we are doing it. This is our state of being, and we are being present. In effect this does reflect who we truly are – I AM present, calm and joyful and peaceful, or I AM frustrated, bored, depressed, fatigued and anxious.
  • Why would we start, let alone stick with, any diet, exercise or activity if it made us bored, depressed, anxious or fatigued?
    • If we want our “diet” or exercise routine to be a part of our daily lives, we need to make it enjoyable and rewarding. Forget “no pain, no gain.”
    • We are now focusing on activities that help PREVENT our stress and calm our spirits, while toning our bodies. This doesn’t mean that we stay away from high impact activities, it just means that we find ones that build us up instead of breaking us down.
  • We understand that in order to change the way we look and feel we must change our behaviors for the rest of our lives. This means that we MUST ENJOY what we eat and what we do.

Maybe you can imagine or see a favorite place in your life or even just a place in your mind. Bring yourself there to this place and allow yourself to experience all of the different sights, smells, and emotions of being here and safe.

Weight Loss Script Hypnotic Suggestions

Not only are your muscles relaxed, but every cell in your body is relaxing and releasing healing energy NOW. You are restoring calm to your nervous system – the central hub for everything you do – and your body and mind both know that this is the time to relax. You are safe and calm.

Picture right now your body as it is currently. Imagine in detail all the toll of your life weighing down your body and start to notice right now any negative emotions or words that you have let others give you or you have given yourself. Experience any negativity, shame, fatigue, stress or pressure you have felt in the past. This might bring up strong emotions or fears, but just allow yourself one more time to experience these feelings in this very safe place.

Today is the day that we will renew and start fresh – this is the first day of the rest of your life. Picture that right in front of you is a beautiful fall of water. This is cleansing, purifying water. In a moment we will step under that calm waterfall. Allow yourself to picture your current state of being. Now in your current body, step into the purifying waterfall and let it begin to wash away all negativity. It is NOW washing away any feelings of fear, doubt, and denial. It is freeing you of any physical, emotional and spiritual obstacles that were blocking your success in the past.

As all shame, guilt and disease washes away from our body, you are now noticing that the waterfall is restoring you. You are beginning to feel and peaceful energy developing in your body. You are developing a sense of determination and a deep knowledge of your own personal success. Your past success, your present success and the knowledge that you will be successful in the future.

The waterfall is washing away any excess fat and inches that you might currently be carrying and is now revealing your true body. The body you were intended to have. The body that is perfect for you. And as you realize this is your personal ideal body, it matters not what anyone else would have to say about you.

Stepping out of this cleansing fall, you notice that you still have your ideal body, and you will always have this ideal body image with you planted in your subconscious mind.

Just relax. Let your breath be calm and natural and let your body just be.

Now I wonder if you can go even deeper, deeper down into your body. In this present moment we can slow down so much that all stress disappears. And as stress disappears, you are activating the anti-oxidants in your cells as you relax knowing that your body can now restore you to youth and health as it clears away stress hormones and free radicals. You do not need these anymore. You are safe, relaxed and peaceful.

Your body is NOW creating the ability to metabolize fat as fuel. You are now metabolizing fat as fuel for your daily needs. This is because you are so relaxed and you allow your body the space and the freedom it needs. Life is not an emergency. Your life is calm and peaceful. There is no reason to worry over your diet and exercise now, because you are enjoying the journey to your perfect health. You are taking care of yourself. Never punishing yourself. Always loving yourself, just as you do your best friend.

Feel right now an expansion through your heart center and you are filled with a lasting, unconditional love for yourself and for others. This love gives you a peace that allows you to feel joyful through all times – the happy times, the sad times, and the times of everyday life.

You are present, calm, joyful and peaceful. In a moment I will count from one to five, and as I count, you can slowly awake yourself from hypnosis. 1 Breathing begining to deepen 2 Body coming to awareness of the room 3 Wiggling through your fingers and toes 4 Eyes beginning to open...and 5 Full awake, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated Good.
